Albimix Foods is an approved franchisee of KFC South Africa with stores based in Gauteng. Their innovative HR and payroll team launched SmartWage to their employees that were widely dispersed across the province.

The Challenge

KFC Albimix's payroll team was spending a lot of time and money printing, separating, and distributing payslips each month. This outdated and manual process meant that payroll could not focus their time on the strategic requirements of the business. Many KFC employees were not even receiving their payslips as they were getting lost in transit. It was clear that paper payslips were not working. 



In January 2022, KFC Franchisee, Albimix Foods rolled-out SmartWage to their employees. In less than one week, the HR team was able to successfully deliver payslips to all KFC employees, via Whatsapp. The process meant that their payroll team didn't have to undergo the admin intensive process of dispersing payslips; they simply logged onto their SmartWage dashboard, uploaded the payroll file and clicked send.
